JEAN MARLENE POMRANKE, age 92, of Willmar, formerly of Worthington, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. She was born December 11, 1932, in Rushmore, to George and Henrietta (Groenwold) Janshen.
Jean married Leo Pomranke on August 23, 1950, at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Parsonage south of Rushmore. The couple farmed near Reading before moving to Luverne. In 1953, they returned to farming in the Rushmore and Reading areas.
She was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Reading; and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #543 in Rushmore. She enjoyed farming with her husband, puzzles, embroidering dish towels, cooking, playing cards and visiting with her friends at Bethesda Grand and Sunrise Village in Willmar.
Jean is survived by her three sons, Billy (Peggy) Pomranke, Mankato; Danny (Marlys) Pomranke, Willmar; and Daryle Pomranke, Mankato; son-in-law, Guy Pagenkopf, Litchfield; special friend, Connie Pomranke, Mankato; eight grandchildren, Serena (Nicholas) Shultz, Cassie (Kevin) Naset, Travis (Kinzie) Pomranke, Karen (Dave) Postma, Amy (Jarad) Ripperger, Angela (Chad) Koosman, Matthew (Alicia) Pomranke and Corey (Natalie) Pomranke; twenty one great-grandchildren, Max, Juniper, Avery, Olive, Evelyn, Wren, Rhett, Maddie, Alivia, Daxton, Isley, Marlee, Mack, Sophia, Ariel, Hunter, Brooklyn, Vaida, Merritt, Everett and Grey; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo on May 4, 2019; daughter, Linda Pagenkopf on Nov. 18, 2024; a brother, Les (Ruby) Janshen; and a sister, Helen (Harm) Heidebrink.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am Saturday April 12 at the Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Reading. Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday at the Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church, in Reading, officiated by Pastor Del Bolluyt. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Bethesda Hospice in Willmar or the hospice of your choice.
Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
