Jeannette Lynn

   Jeannette Lynn passed away on August 10, 2026. She was born on December 9, 1934, to Pete and Dorothy (Van Lear) Touw in Faribault, Minnesota. In 1937 she moved with her parents to a farm southwest of Lismore. She attended eight grades in Rural County School #34. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in Lismore in 1953. She then attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis and went to work in the Claims Department for State Auto.

   Jeannette met her best friend and the only one she ever dated at a dance in Lismore in 1949. She and Robert Lynn were married on April 11, 1955, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. They lived on the same farm southwest of Lismore their entire married life. To this marriage were born five children; Deb, Jeff, Diane, Barb and Brad.

   As a young child Jeannette was always following her dad driving his little Ford tractor. She developed her love of horses from her dad. She began participating in the horse show circuit when she was in 7th grade and continued showing horses throughout high school. During her high school years, she was always one of the top English horse contenders in the Upper Midwest, competing in Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota and Missouri. The shows were usually every weekend during the summer and early fall. Bob always said his biggest competition was a horse.

   After their youngest child, Brad, went off to school, Jeannette returned to the outdoors that she loved; silage chopping, combining corn, tillage work and helping with cattle. The indoor work fell on her three daughters, Deb, Diane and Barb. She knew she could always count on her three sons-in-law to help with any projects she had going on. It was a great satisfaction to Jeannette and Bob to see their two sons, Jeff and Brad, take over the farming operation. The daughters-in-law quickly became their husband’s helpmates and their biggest asset. Jeannette was a big believer in higher education and was especially proud that all 16 of her grandchildren graduated from college and put their educations to good use. She was an avid reader and always up to date on current events and world news. She said you should learn something new every day. She also served as the clerk of the Adrian Public School Board for 19 years.

   Jeannette and Bob loved to travel and began their adventures with ten-day vacations every August with their five children when Brad was two years old. When they became empty-nesters they traveled to most of the 50 states, several international destinations, took several cruises and many fly-in fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. They met many people and remained life-long friends with the farm families they met during their 1981 tour of farms across Europe. Many of them met every other year for a reunion up until 2017 when Bob developed health problems.

   Jeannette was an active member of her church and her faith was a very important part of her life. She taught religious education for 17 years. She claimed that one could never be too busy to have God at the center of their life. Faith was her cornerstone, family was her greatest blessing and farming was her life.

   Jeannette is survived by her children Deb (Steve) Scheidt, Jeff (Denise) Lynn, Diane (Chuck) Foerster, Barb (Rick) Dorn and Brad (Brenda) Lynn. Jeannette sends a special thank you to Dave Lutmer (you were like her third son) for always being there when needed.

   Jeannette also leaves behind 32 grandchildren; Chris (Gretchen) Scheidt, Becky (Joel) Heitkamp, Amanda (Justin) Johnson, Natalie (Kyle) Bender, Samantha (Adam) Voss, Nick (Sydney) Lynn, Andy (Emily) Foerster, Katelyn (Colton) Altobell , Molly (Joe) Veit, Stacy (Matt) Bauler, Stephanie (Mike) Hopkins, Bobby (Erin) Dorn, Morgan (Waylon) Blasius, Mitchell (Abby) Lynn, Tony (Lexi) Lynn, Nate Lynn and special friend Kaitlyn Mehlhaf and 36 great-grandchildren.

   Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2020; her mother and father, Pete and Dorothy Touw; her mother and father in-law, Sophia and Herbert Lynn; great grandson, Robert Bradley Blasius; and sisters and brothers in-law Florence and Clarence Voss, Viola and Emmett Skov, Clyde and Maxine Lynn, Ila and James Daly, Helen and Bill McCann, Darlene and Ralph Smith, Irene and Lorin Kruger, Kay Hage and Jeannie Rasmussen. Jeannette and Bob were always grateful for the special friends they had in their journey through life; Bob and Jean Knips, Ray and Bette LeBrun and Darwin and Lois Veld and their families. After Bob passed away, Jeannette found great joy in spending time with her “Soul Friends”.

   The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Colletti, Roxanne Kemper, the Ecumen Meadows and the Sunset Hospice Cottage for their kind and compassionate care.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be at the St. Anthony Cemetery.
