ELGIN -- Services for Jeffrey F. Gravon will be at noon Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague, Minn. Interment will be at noon Monday in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington, Minn., followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Worthington. Mr. Gravon, 45, of New Prague, died Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2009) at Rochester Methodist Hospital, of cancer. He was born Nov. 23, 1963, in Sioux Falls, S.D., and he grew up in Worthington. He attended Worthington schools, Worthington Community College, Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and the Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala. Mr. Gravon was currently a physical education teacher at New Prague Middle School and the boys varsity basketball coach at New Prague High School, and had also coached in Minnesota at schools in Erskine, Slayton, Fulda and Elgin-Millville. He is survived by two children, Jordan and Allison in New Prague; two stepchildren, Jason Gravon of Burnsville, Minn., and Danielle Gravon of New Prague; his mother, Joyce Gravon of Worthington; and three sisters, Lynn Gravon and Lori (Stephen) Schnieder, both of Worthington, and Janine (Keith) Bremer of Ocheyedan, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague, and an hour before the service Monday at First United Methodist Church in Worthington. Memorials are preferred to the Jeff Gravon Benefit Fund at Community Security Bank in New Prague. Bruzek Funeral Home of New Prague and Dingmann Funeral Home of Worthington are assisting with arrangements.
