JEFFREY LEE O'TOOLE, age 63, of Rochester, formerly of Luverne, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. He was born April 29, 1952, in Luverne, to Raymond and Deanna (Vatland) O'Toole. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1970; and later from Winona State University where he received his Master's Degree in Special Education.
Jeff taught special education for thirty four years in Rochester before retiring in 2008. His years teaching were for Central, Willow Creek, John Marshall and Transition Into Adulthood Program.
He enjoyed traveling, house remodeling and photography. Jeff was an avid supporter of and volunteer for ARC for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and the Ability Builders Center.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Deanna O'Toole, Luverne; five siblings, Patrick O'Toole, Rochester; Mark O'Toole, Luverne; Mary Jo (Darrell) Hemme, Luverne; Kathleen (Gary) Dahedl, Apple Valley; and Barbara (Paul) O'Toole-Brehm, Eagan; and nephews, Alex, Gavin, and Andrew; and nieces, Brittney, Brianna, Maddie, Hanna and Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; and a brother, Michael O'Toole.
A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2015, at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial of cremains will be at the St. Catherine Cemetery in Luverne.
