JENNIE JOHANNA HONKEN, age 92, of Rushmore, died Friday, February 2, 2007, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home, in Ellsworth. She was born July 11, 1914, in Lanark, IL, to Michael and Minnie (Blank) Honken. At the age of five, Jennie moved with her family to West Union. Three years later, she moved to Minneapolis where she attended school. At the age of fifteen, she moved to Worthington where she graduated from high school. She later attended a year of Normal School. Jennie married Oltman Honken on May 11, 1935, in Kenneth. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Kenneth & Hardwick areas. In 1967, they moved to Rushmore. Jennie became a resident of the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in 2002. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore. She enjoyed gardening. Jennie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Oltman ?Okie? & Cleone Honken, Luverne; and Robert & Sandy Honken, Laramie, WY; son-in-law, Ronald Loveless, Owatonna; seven grandchildren, Ron (Cathy) Honken, Randy (Carmon) Honken, Scott (Pam) Honken, Douglas (Terri) Honken, Paul (Paula) Loveless, Beth (Brent) Svenby & Jeff (Mary) Loveless; sixteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Gertrude Albers, Clear Lake, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oltman, on December 12, 1995; and a daughter, Elaine Loveless. Blessed Be Her Memory.
