JENNIE LENZ, age 99, of Ellsworth, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Adrian Care Center in Adrian, MN. She was born March 8, 1915 in Campbell, MN; to parents Henry and Alice (Walters) Broesder. She attended rural schools in Iowa. After her schooling she worked various jobs and taught Sunday School in the Ellsworth area.
Jennie was united in marriage to Martin Lenz and they were engaged in farming north of Ellsworth for many years. Martin died in 1968 and Jennie remained on the family farm until 2013 when she moved to the Adrian Country Living Cottages.
She was a member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth for 56 years.  Jennie enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching the Minnesota Vikings and her daily TV shows, bird watching and bowling in her early years. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting and playing cards.
Jennie is survived by her children, Mavis (Larry) Arends, Ellsworth, MN; and Dellis (Marianne) Lenz, Hanover, MN; four grandchildren, Craig (Heather) Arends, Brenda Arends, Sarah Lenz and Rachel Lenz; two great grandchildren, Emily and Gabriel Arends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Martin, five brothers and three sisters.
