Obituary

JIM KLUVER, age 69, of Brewster, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Worthington Regional Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1938 in Sac City, Iowa to parents Hans and Viola (Kies) Kluver. Jim attended grade school at a country school near Lakeview, IA. He and his family then moved to Okabena where he graduated from Okabena High School in 1956. On August 17, 1957 he married Mary Severson in Brewster. Jim worked as a delivery driver for the Lakefield Creamery and in 1960 he was hired as custodian for the Brewster School District. He retired from the school after 35 years of service. After retirement Jim worked part time for the elevator in Heron Lake. He also mowed part time for the City of Worthington for a few years. In June of 2007 Jim retired from the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department in which he served the community for nearly 45 years. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family. His 18 grandchildren were a great joy to him. He was a fix it man and received many calls from his children looking for helpful hints and suggestions. Jim always enjoyed being outside, whether it was doing yardwork, decorating for the holidays or just out enjoying the weather. His hobbies included camping, boating, watching NASCAR and collecting just about anything. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years,Mary, Brewster; two sons, Randy (Burnett) Kluver, Winter Park, FL; Rick (Jamie) Kluver, North Port, FL; three daughters, Kim Hinkeldey, Jackson; Kari (Kevin) McBreen, Heron Lake and Jami (Chad) Cummings, Brewster; 18 grandchildren, Idett and Philip Bowman, Centennial, Kristopher and Danielle Kluver, Crystal and Justin Johnson, Ashley, Mitchell, Samantha and Calvin Ferguson, Taylor Briggs, Kent, Kyle, and Kirk McBreen, Kennedy and Madison Cummings, one brother Bob (MaryAnn) Kluver, Garden Grove, CA; one sister LaVonne (Doug) Geertsema, Worthington; one sister-in-law, Alice Kluver, Albert Lea.
