JOANN MARIE HURLEY, age 66, of rural Round Lake, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at her home. She was born August 24, 1941 in Hartley, IA; to parents Max and Mabel (Egdorf) Hinz. Joann graduated from Hartley High School in Hartley, IA in 1959. After her schooling she worked at the Hartley Creamery until she was accepted at Sioux Valley Hospital School of Radiology in August of 1960. After two years she graduated and was employed at the Worthington Regional Hospital. She also worked at the Jackson Hospital and was employed for thirty years at the Worthington Specialty Clinic as an x-ray technician. Joann was united in marriage to Delbert A. Hurley on April 4, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hartley, IA. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Ewington Township on the Hurley family farm. Delbert and Joann owned and operated Eastside Acres Campground since 1969 until present. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Round Lake and was a session board member. She loved to travel, needlepoint, quilting, casino visits, but mostly following the grandchildren?s activities and spending time with her children, sisters and friends. Joann is survived by her children and their spouses, Ronda (Michael) Sammons, rural Round Lake; Paula (Brent) Jacobsen, Lake Park, IA; Scott (Rebecca) Hurley, Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Ashley & Anthony Voss, Kyle & Austin Jacobsen, Ciarra, Madison & Justin Hurley; four step great grandchildren, Gabriella & Natalie Sammons, Riley & Hannah Sneller; sisters, Phyllis Feldt, Apple Valley, MN; Marlene (Dale) Nagel, Spirit Lake, IA and Peg (Jim) Ebel, Milford, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Delbert A. Hurley on December 24, 2002.
