Obituary

JOHN RAYMOND MULLER, age 85, of Fulda, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda. He was born December 11, 1927, in rural Adrian, to Adolf and Grace (Van Dyke) Muller. He attended country school at Nobles County Dist. #14; and graduated from Little Rock High School in Little Rock, IA. After graduation, John worked in Minneapolis before being drafted in the United States Army. He served his country in the Korean Conflict from 1946 to 1947 attaining the rank of Platoon Sargent. After his discharge, he returned to Minnesota to farm with his father & brother.
John married Mollyann Zanter on October 7, 1950, at the Avoca Lutheran Church. The couple farmed by Slayton and south of Fulda for over thirty years. In 1973, John was appointed District Sales Manager for JC Robinson Golden Harvest Seed Co. A position he held for twenty years, receiving many sales awards. John & Mollyann sold their farm and moved to Fulda in 1991. They spent their retirement years wintering in Texas & Arizona.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, in Worthington, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir for many many years. John proudly served as board member on Murray County EDC and New Dawn Inc. He was one of the founding board members for Prairie Expo in Worthington.
John is survived by his five children, Dawn (Bill) Dunn, Rockford; Randy (Ruth) Muller, Freeman, SD; Renee (Gary) Versterate, Marshall; Gail (Jim) Reyne, Mitchell, SD; and Jonna (Craig) Hennager, Buffalo Lake; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Alice Magnus, Slayton; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his bride of 57 years, Mollyann, on March 29, 2008; son-in-law, Steve Pearcy; two brothers, Fred & Jake Muller; and a sister, Anna Mae Hassebroek.
A time of fellowship will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. Memorial Service will be 1 pm Friday at the American Lutheran Church, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Gary Anderson. A private committal service will precede the memorial service at Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Avoca.
