JOHN JOSEPH SIEVE, age 81, of Worthington, died Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. He was born November 18, 1943, in Worthington, MN to Mildred (Busch) and Joseph Sieve.  He was the completion to their family with 3 older, doting sisters.

Growing up on the farm provided many lessons that would benefit him including hard work, integrity, and a pragmatic and common-sense approach in navigating his world.  After graduating from Our Lady of Good Counsel in 1961, he furthered his education at Worthington Junior College and graduated with a degree in mathematics and business from Mankato State University in 1965.

His return to Worthington was driven by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Ruth Ann Probst.  They married June 26, 1965, in Wilmont, and  celebrated 60 years of marriage and raising their children.

John's business career began at Campbell Soup as an industrial engineer in the accounting department.  After several years he was hired by Woody Glad at the Worthington Medical Center eventually becoming the administrator.  It was at both of these jobs that lifelong friends were made and continued throughout the years.

Retiring in 1998 gave John time to pursue his long list of hobbies and interests.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, travel, riding his Harley, living on Lake Okabena, and wintering for 27 years in the Arizona sun.  His grandchildren received a special wooden toy every Christmas made with love from their grandpa.

Always one for a good joke or a good story, he loved staying connected with his children and grandchildren His advice was always carefully thought out and delivered with love.  His strong faith guided his every move and decision.

Left to cherish, wife Ruth of 60 years, son, Bryan (Lisa) Sieve, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Brenda (Andy) Noll, Fairmont; and daughter, Lisa (Victor) Lewis, Calgary, Alberta Canada; eight grandchildren, Eric and Ryan (Emily) Noll, Brandon and Taylor Sieve, and Austin/Ellie, Benjamin, Abigail, and Charlie Lewis; his bonus son, Steve Tripp, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Donna Menke, Worthington; Leona (Roger) Lewis, Worthington; and Norma (Edwin) Johanning, Worthington; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, JoAnn; mother and father-in-law, John and Edith Probst and other in-laws.

A time of fellowship will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday August 19 at the Dingmann funeral home in Worthington and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorial mass will be 10:30 am on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by father Jordan Danielson and deacon Vern Behrends. Burial of Cremain will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
