JOSEPH CHARLES WAGNER, age 72, of Ellsworth, died Monday, November 27, 2006, at the Knapp Medical Center, in Weslaco, TX. He was born March 29, 1934, in Ellsworth, to Joseph and Matilda (Gerardy) Wagner. He graduated from St. Mary?s Catholic School, in Ellsworth. Joe entered the United States Air Force and served his country as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1957. After returning from the service, Joe attended A and P School, in Watertown, SD. Joe married Rosemary Petersen on August 16, 1960, in Beresford, SD. After their marriage, the couple lived in Ellsworth. They also lived in Adrian and Mankato before moving to Rosemount in 1969 where Joe worked as an airline mechanic for Northwest Airline. He retired in 1996. In 1997, the couple moved back to Ellsworth. They enjoyed spending their winters in the south for the past seven years in Mississippi & Texas. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Ellsworth; and the Ellsworth American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, music, sports and telling a good joke. Joe is survived by his wife, Rosemary Wagner, Ellsworth; four children, Ruth & Michael Wenz, Gillette, WY; Marilyn & Rodney Lanners, Burtrum; Neal & Julie Wagner, Rosemount; and Eugene ?Fuzz? Wagner, Burtrum; six grandchildren, Bailey & Nolan Wenz; Ashley & Amy Lanners; and Jennifer & Aaron Wagner; brother, George Wagner, Clarissa; two brothers-in-law, Robert Salber, Little Falls; and Leonard Salber, Browerville; and a sister-in-law, Rita Wagner, Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Werner & Richard Wagner; three sisters, Catherine Wagner, Rita Salber & Delores Salber; and a sister-in-law, Connie Wagner.
