Joshua Michael Nolte was born in Luverne, MN on July 25, 1988 to Eileen Jurrens and Michael Nolte.
Josh grew up in Ellsworth, MN and went to school there. He played football and basketball. Josh played on the 2006 Class A State Basketball Runnerup Team. He was also a key player on the 2007 Class A State Basketball Championship Team. Josh was baptized and confirmed at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN. He loved sports of every kind, country music, and his family. He was united in marriage to Kelsey in Spearfish Canyon, SD on October 7, 2016. To this union, a son was born, Buckley. To everyone who knew him, Josh was an extremely caring and fun guy.
Josh was diagnosed with brain cancer in June, 2016 and he fought a very brave and courageous battle with many ups and downs. With his loving family around him, Josh went to his heavenly home on September 29, 2020.
Josh is survived by his wife, Kelsey Murray, son, Buckley, mother and stepfather, Eileen and Dave Goedken, father, Mike Nolte, brothers, Tom (Kari) and their daughter Emerson, Nick (Jordyn) and their son Bryer, Tim (Hannah Mulder), sister, Heidi (Alex Kruse), half-sister Hailee (Pierce Wetering), grandmother, Delores Jurrens, step-grandmother, Paula Goedken, mother and father-in-law, Mike and Dee Murray, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Donald Jurrens, grandmother and grandfather, Shirley and Dick (Stitch) Nolte, and cousin, Jessica Nolte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Buckley Nolte Education Fund at the Adrian State Bank, PO Box 129, Adrian, MN 56110, or a donation can be made to Brains Together for a Cure, PO Box 8353, Rochester, MN 55903.
A private memorial service for immediate family is being held at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian on Friday, October 2, at 10:30 A.M. In accordance with Josh's wishes to keep everyone safe, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
