JUANITA MILDRED HOSKINS, age 92, formerly of Luverne died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN. Juanita was born March 12, 1916 in Princeton, MN to Joseph and Bertha (Bachoven) Whitcomb. She graduated from Princeton High School and then worked in the local dime store. Juanita was united in marriage to Elmer Hoskins on October 23, 1943 in Visalia, CA. They moved to Minneapolis, MN were she worked for Community Health Services dispatching nurses. They moved to Adrian, MN in 1948 were their daughter was born. In 1958 they moved to Luverne, MN were she helped her husband, Elmer, at Hoskins Electric Motor Repair as a bookkeeper for 36 years. They retired and traveled until 2006 when they retired permanently to Harlingen, TX where they had previously spent their winters. She was an active member of Eastern Star, Esther Circle, United Methodist Friendship Club, Square Dancers, Saturday Night Dance Club, and card clubs. She loved to bake cookies and banana bread, which she loved to give to friends and neighbors. She is survived by her husband, Elmer; one daughter, Joan (Brian) Eastlund, Alexandria, MN; three grandchildren, Traci Sherman, Hendricks, MN; Timothy (Brandi) Abell, Alexandria, MN; Lawrence Vanderbush, Alexandria, MN; seven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mabel Whitcomb; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bertha; four brothers, Clinton, Virgil, Ben, and Therold.
