JUDITH "JUDY" R. VORTHERMS, age 73, of Reading, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Adrian Country Living Cottages. She was born May 27, 1947, in Worthington, to Lynn and Ruth (Shade) Baird. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1965.

Judy married Don Vortherms on March 8, 1967, at the St. Adrian Church Parsonage in Adrian. The couple lived in Worthington before moving to Reading in 1996. Judy worked for over twenty years at The Meadows, in Worthington, before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and camping.

Judy is survived by her husband, Don Vortherms, Reading; three children, Jon (Wendy) Vortherms, Naples, FL; Robert (Brenda) Vortherms, Worthington; and Susan (Scott) Belz, Worthington; six grandchildren, Daydra (Todd) Lambert, Chelsea Vortherms, Kayla (Carlos) Cerasa, Madison Vortherms, Adrianna Engler and Dalton (Karlee) Belz; thirteen great-grandchildren, Dominick, Michael, Aubree, Blake, Skylee, Bella, Tucker, Landen, Savannah, Maverick, Kayley, Chloe and Izzabella; a brother, Bob Baird, What Cher, IA; two sisters, JoAnn (Jim) Bakker, Worthington; and Bonnie Simpson, Worthington; and a brother-in-law, Steve Henrichs, St. Carlos, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Donna Henrichs.

A private family graveside service will take place at a later date. Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Worthington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
