KAREN CATHERINE LOOSBROCK, age 62, of Reading, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Adrian Care Center. She was born December 12, 1951, in Slayton, to Dominic and Helen (Bostic) Wagner. She grew up in Wilmont and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School in 1969.
Karen married Charles J. Loosbrock on September 17, 1973, in Wilmont. To this union three children were born, Brian, Darin & Alicia. The couple later divorced. Karen worked as a hairdresser for over twenty three years. She owned & operated The Clip Joint in Wilmont. She later owned Doobies Sports Bar & Grill in Reading. While she farmed with Cy in rural Reading, Karen was a caregiver at New Dawn Inc. in Worthington, for over fifteen years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. Karen enjoyed everything outdoorsy from gardening, fishing and riding horse to snowmobiling and softball. In all that she loved, being surrounded by her family & friends was her favorite.
Karen is survived by her special friend, Cy Eisele, Reading; three children, Brian (Miki) Loosbrock, & their children, Beau & Brody, Wilmont; Darin (Amy) Loosbrock, & their children, Abby & Wyatt, Iona; and Alicia Loosbrock (Josh Entinger & Kadence), Wilmont; four sisters, Dolores Hebig, Marshall; Marlene (John "Whitey") Jueneman, Wilmont; Darlene Balster, Sioux Falls, SD; and Lois (Jerry) Peil, Worthington; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Leon Wagner; and two brothers-in-law, Franklin "Red" Balster and Adrian Hebig.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont with Parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
Dingmann Funeral Home, in Wilmont, is in charge of arrangements.
