Obituary

KAREN MARIE WIENEKE, age 65, of rural Magnolia, died Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born February 5, 1945, in Worthington, to Harold and Gertrude (Finke) Donahue. Karen graduated from Fulda High School in 1962. She graduated from Mankato Beauty School for Hairstyling in 1963. She then worked at Fiola?s Barber Shop in Worthington. Karen married Marvin F. Wieneke on June 3, 1967, in Dundee. After their marriage, the couple farmed northeast of Magnolia. Karen owned & operated Karen?s Beauty Salon where she fixed hair in her mother-in-laws basement until 1986. Karen battled Multiple Sclerosis for twenty seven years but never complained. Before she was diagnosed with MS, she enjoyed needle work, sewing, cooking & baking. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church. Karen is survived by her daughter, Sherri Wieneke, rural Magnolia; brother, Gary Donahue, Heron Lake; three sisters, Janet (Dennis) Hohensee, Round Lake; Pam (Jack) Montague, Andover; and Deb (Roger) ; and her special care giver, Theresa Conklin, Kenneth. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Marvin, on April 24, 2007.
