KARLEE MAE GUSTAF,  age 21, of Bigelow, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.  She was born on June 17, 1992, in Blue Earth, MN to parents, Rick and Dena (Durst) Gustaf.  Karlee was baptized on August 23, 1992 at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, MN; and confirmed on April 9, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Okabena.  She attended St. John's Christian School in Okabena thru the 8th grade and graduated from Worthington High School in 2010.  Karlee was enrolled to return to school to become a surgical nurse.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Okabena and was a former member of the youth choir. In High School she was in FFA, choir, Bel Canto girl's ensemble and was in 4H.  Karlee had a creative mind and a beautiful voice with a passion to let it out. She would sing for herself, friends, and family no matter the time or occassion. She had a love for animals; milked cows during highschool, worked in the swine industry, she also would raise and show her goats. Karlee loved riding horses and was also a snake enthusiast. She recently got the Ball Python snake she had wanted since chidhood and named it Puppy.  She was a free spirit who liked doing different things with her hair and liked to express herself through tattoos and unique outfits.
Karlee is survived by her parents, Rick and Dena Gustaf, Bigelow, MN;  brother, Nate Gustaf, Bigelow, sister, Alyssa (Daniel) Clausen, Worthington, MN;  paternal Grandmother, LaVera (Herm) Casjens, Rock Rapids IA;  maternal grandparents, Mary Durst, Bigelow, MN; and David Durst, Bingham Lake, MN;  maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Durst "Granny" Spirit Lake, IA;  paternal aunts and uncles, Jim and Karla Gustaf, Fort Worth, TX;  Dave and Tami Gustaf, Fort Worth, TX;  maternal aunt and uncle, Darren and Amy Durst, Okabena, MN; also great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Terry Gustaf.
