Obituary

KATHERINE ?MARIE? BOHN, age 84, of Waseca, formerly of Brewster, died peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the Colony Court Assisted Living Center, in Waseca. She was born July 15, 1921, to Herbert and Mayme (Thornbraugh) Thiner, on the ?home place? in Alba Township, Jackson County. She graduated from Brewster High School in 1939; and later attended Worthington Community College. Marie married Edward Bohn on October 2, 1940, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Brewster. Together they raised nine children and farmed for thirty seven years. She was active in many church and social service activities as well. She served as a religion teacher for 3rd graders and president of the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Church, Pink Lady and communion distributor at Sacred Heart Church in Brewster & Waseca. She was also active in the Waseca Senior Citizens Center. Marie loved babies, baking, gardening, singing, dancing, bird watching, cross word puzzles, boat riding, traveling to see the country and visiting her children. She was a homemaker and was employed later in life at the Holiday Inn as a waitress, at Gordon Drug, and at Worthington Hospital, as a H.E.L.P. referral services receptionist, Town Drug in Bloomington; and a greeter at Wal-Mart, Waseca before retiring in 1985. Marie is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Lyle (Jolene) Bohn, Waseca; Kathleen (Thomas) Keane, Jr., White Bear Lake; John (Cindy) Bohn, Homeland, CA; Duane (Diane) Bohn, Winona; Joanne (Robert) Stephens, Tucson, AZ; Gary (Anita) Bohn, Brewster; Rosemary (Larry) Estry, Cary, IL; and Patrick Bohn, Colorado Springs, CO; fifteen respective grandchildren, Brenda (Mark) Leonard, Becky (David) Ellis, Bruce (Krissy) Bohn, Meghan and Michael Keane, Jamie and Eric Bohn, Suzanne, David and Nicole Bohn, Kelly and Kyle Stephens, Melissa Bohn, John and LauraMae Estry. Eight great grandchildren, Erica and Joshua Somers, Nick and Chad Leonard, Emily and Elijah Ellis, Trent and Claire Bohn; brother, Paul Thiner, Heron Lake; sister, Theresa Molitor, Brewster; ex-husband, Ed ward Bohn, Brewster; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Bohn, Brewster. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gene Bohn, in 1992; five brothers, Frank, George, Lawrence, Phillip, & Raymond Thiner; and four sisters, Grace, Helen, Rose, and Anna.
