KATHRYN KRUGER, age 87, of Brewster, passed away at the Sunset Hospice Cottage of Worthington on Thursday, December 11, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 1, 1927, in George, IA; to George M. and Trena (Schneiderman) Kruger. She attended country school #4 in Little Rock, IA; and graduated from the 8th grade at Harris High School, in Harris, IA; in 1941.
Kathryn married John Thomas Kruger on July 13, 1945, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Round Lake. In 1957, they began farming near Harris, IA. They moved to the current farm near Brewster in 1970. Kathryn worked along side of John all the years they farmed.
She was a member of the Indian Lake Baptist Church where she taught Bible School, Sunday School & served on the Mission Board. She enjoyed her family, flower gardening, baking bread and wintering in Haines City, FL since 1993. John and Kathryn were foster parents of Eileen & Mariah.
Kathryn is survived by her two children, Linda Vodraska, Spirit Lake, IA; and Randy (Lorna) Kruger, Brewster; five grandchildren, Martin (Stephanie) Wieck, Matthew (Angela) Wieck, Stacy (Reed) Fricke, Crystal (Ryan) Neale & Kyle Kruger (and girlfriend Kylie Gould); seven great grandchildren, Parker, Paige, Payton, Keagan, Ryker, Rustin & Paisley; two brothers, George Kruger, Sibley, IA; and Elra (Delores) Kruger, Round Lake and a sister,  Matilda "Matt" Bergman, Omaha, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1991; six brothers, Martin, Kreine, Benjamin, Harvey, Herman & Tom Kruger; and two sisters, Angeline Voss & Helen DeWeerdt, two son-in-laws, Roger Wieck and Bruce Vodraska.
A time of fellowship will be from 5:30 to 8:30 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A memorial service will be 1:30 PM Saturday at the Indian Lake Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Jonathan Larson. Burial of cremains will be at the Indian Lake Baptist Cemetery.
