KATHRYN (KATHY) BAUERMEISTER, age 59, of Heron Lake, MN; died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at her home in Heron Lake, surrounded by family after a two year long battle with cancer. She was born November 20, 1956 in Worthington to parents Elmer (Andy) and Diana (Doeden) Anderson. She attended Windom Area School and graduated from Worthington High School.
Kathy was united in marriage to Randy Bauermeister on November 23, 1974. They made their home in Worthington and then moved to Winsor, OH; and she helped her husband in maintenance at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home. They moved to Heron Lake on June 1, 1976 and she worked for Lakeview Nursing Home as a dietary aid. Kathy later worked for District 518 as a paraprofessional and also District 518 group homes.
Kathy had been a member of the United Methodist Church. Kathy loved being outdoors and enjoyed various activities such as camping, boating, walking and spending time with her family. She had a most positive outlook on life and was a great inspiration to everyone.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Bauermeister, Heron Lake, MN; daughter, Heather (Tim) Hansen, Farmington, MN; granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah, sisters, Susan Albrecht, Windom, MN; Sandy (Scott) Swanson, Lakefield, MN; brothers,Dwayne  (Tami) Anderson, St. James, MN; Troy (Colleen) Anderson, Ham Lake, MN; mother-in-law, Jenola (Mel) Uden, Ocheyedan, IA; sister-in-law, LeAnn (Kevin) Donovan, Worthington, MN; brother-in-law, Rick Bauermeister, Dell Rapids, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A time of fellowship will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Heron Lake Community Center. Memorial service will be Friday at the First United Methodist Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Kathy Brandt. Burial of cremains will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Worthington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
