KELLY LEE KLINGENBERG, age 50, of Brewster, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester where he was surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 16, 1974, in Sibley, IA, to Larry and Ruth (Kempema) Klingenberg. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1992; and later from Jackson Vo-Tech with an Associate Arts Degree in Auto Mechanics. Kelly married Carey Fischer on June 21, 1997, in Worthington. The couple lived in Worthington before moving to their acreage north of Brewster in 2004. Kelly began working at Graham Tire, in Worthington in 1994. In 2005, he started driving truck with his father. He began working for the Minnesota Department of Transportation, in Adrian, in 2009. Kelly was fearless and loved anything with speed and adventure. He spent a lot of his time dirt track racing, drag racing, snowmobiling, riding ATV in the Black Hills and working on his project cars. Hard work and family were two of the most important things in life to him. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, husband, son, brother, and friend. Kelly is loved by many and will be missed dearly. Kelly is survived by his wife, Carey Klingenberg, Brewster; three children, Aaron (Tracee) Fischer, Brewster; Alaina Klingenberg, Arlington, VA; and Abby Loudon, Sioux Falls, SD; granddaughter, Lehni Fischer; parents, Larry and Ruth Klingenberg, Worthington; and two sisters, Karen (Myron) Moore, Sioux Falls, SD; and Karla (Jeff) Hanisch, Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday, February 19, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Micheal Freeman & Jamie Bowen. Burial will be in the Hersey Cemetery in Brewster.
