Obituary

KENNETH MYRON KAZEMBA, age 84, of Worthington, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. He was born December 21, 1931, in Jackson County, to Reinhold and Doris (Place) Kazemba. He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1949; after high school he farmed in rural Sioux Valley.
Kenny married Eunice Matthes on July 14, 1962. The couple lived in Worthington for four years and then moved to Sioux Valley Township. Kenny was a grain farmer and raised hogs with his son, Paul. In 1996, he retired and moved back to Worthington with his wife Eunice.
After retiring from the farm, he worked as a Funeral Director Assistant at the Dingmann Funeral Home. He was also a courier driver for the Red Cross delivering supplies to area hospitals.
Kenny spent many years portraying Santa Claus in several towns, listening to the dreams of children and bringing smiles to everyone he met. He also enjoyed singing in the Barbershop Chorus; and collecting John Deere toy tractors.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington, where he served on various committees.
Kenny is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Dawn Kazemba, rural Lakefield; grandson, Brendan (fiancée Janae Vonk) Kazemba, rural Round Lake; brother, Eldon Kazemba, rural Lakefield; sister-in-law, Shirley Kazemba, Worthington; brother-in-law, Bill (Joan) Matthes, Mankato; brother-in-law, Frank (Gloria) Evenson, St. George, UT; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eunice, on September 25, 2013; and a brother, Arnold Kazemba.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Mark Schreiber. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1505 Dover Street, Worthington.
