Kenneth Elsing

KENNETH ELSING, age 87, of Adrian, died Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born June 6, 1938, on the family farm near Rushmore, to Henry and Gladys (Boone) Elsing. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1956.

Kenny married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Breuer, on June 1, 1958, in Adrian. The couple farmed near Rushmore before moving to the family farm also near Rushmore. They then moved to Paulina, IA where Kenny worked at a dairy farm. They moved to Luverne where Kenny worked at Midpack beef processing. They moved back to a farm near Rushmore before retiring and moving to Worthington. They later moved to Adrian.

He was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church. He enjoyed feeding squirrels and birds, farming and doing lawn work.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Kathy Elsing, Worthington; four children, Rhonda (Terry) Langland, Worthington; Jeffrey Elsing, Phoenix, AZ; Kimberly (Harlan) DeBeer, Adrian; and Kevin (Sharon) Elsing, Sioux Falls, SD; eight grandchildren, Josh (friend, Brianna) Elsing, Aimee (Chris) DeSherlia, Nichole Lowe, Faith Elsing, Darren DeBeer, Tracy (Tyler) Jacobs, Ripley Elsing and Afton Elsing; granddaughter-in-law, Kim DeBeer; thirteen great-grandchildren, Karlie, Freya, Faith, Toby, Chasity, Alicen, Zander, Mason, Lincoln, Hudson, Charlie, Caroline and Caitlin; two brothers, Gene Elsing, Yuma, AZ; and Milford Elsing, Sioux Falls, SD; and two sisters, Barb Fischer, Oregon; and Donna (Eldon) Lober, Twin Cities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Candice; son, Rick Elsing; and a grandson, Daniel DeBeer.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, June 4 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Funeral will be 7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Adrian, officiated by Pastor John Mitchum. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
