LOUIS DUANE KLEINE, age 73, of Luverne, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne. He was born September 12, 1933, in rural Magnolia, to Earnest and Myrtle (Lehmann) Kleine. He attended school in Magnolia. He worked various jobs in the area until he served his country from 1953 to 1955 in the U.S. Army Louis was united in marriage to Lois Bergman on September 4, 1965 in Omaha NE. After their marriage they lived in Omaha, where Louis worked at Northern Natural Gas/Enron for more than twenty five years. He retired in 1987 and they moved to Luverne where he helped his nephew Kevin Kraetsch with farming. He moved to Pipestone Nursing Home in November of 2006 and later moved to the Veterans Home in Luverne. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Luverne. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, playing cards and board games with his family. He also enjoyed going to Alamo, TX for the winters for many years. Louis is survived by his wife, four brothers, William and Dallas, Luverne; Donald (Martha) Ann Arbor, MI; Thomas (Penny) Summerville, SC; eight sisters, Evelyn Nelson, Nyla Stearns, Mildred (John) Steece, Mary (Floyd) Kraetsch, all of Luverne; Barbara Dye, Sioux Falls; Joyce (Glenn) Hawes, Jasper; Patty (Loren) Krier, Beresford, SD; Janis (Jerry) Glapa, Rochester; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Rodney, three sisters, Marian Winter, Margaret Pickard, and Helen Taillefer.
