KURTIS LEE SMITH, age 52, of Forest City, IA, formerly of Adrian, died Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home. He was born June 15, 1969, in Worthington, to Lee and Kathy (Bell) Smith. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1987; and later from Ridgewater College Willmar Campus. After graduating college, Kurt traveled to Germany to study photography.

He worked various jobs in Worthington before moving to Iowa where he worked at Mayer Studio in Spirit Lake, IA. Kurt was a former member of Solid Rock Assembly in Worthington; and a current member of the Dominion Church for the Word of Faith in Lake Mills, IA. Kurt had a wonderful sense of humor. His laugh could light up a room. He loved photography and he enjoyed firearms, fishing and he always thought of others and was willing to help out anyone.

Kurt is survived by his daughter, Jordan Smith, Lake Park, IA; parents, Lee & Kathy Smith, Wilmont; special friend, Aimee Barrie, Adrian; two sisters, Trisha (friend, Kerry Zinnel) Smith, Wilmont; and LeeAnn (Eric) Sipress, Forest City, IA; four nieces & nephews, Ashlee (Jake) Buntjer, Brett (friend, Emily) Steffen, Nate Sipress and Lizzy Sipress; three great-nieces, Adrianna, Emily and Braylee; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua Smith; and his grandparents

A Time of Fellowship will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 20, at the Dingmann Funeral home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

A Memorial Service will be at Solid Rock Assembly Church on Saturday, August 21, at 10:30 am officiated by Pastors John Nau & Randy Knuth.

A graveside service will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Wilmont Cemetery.
