LACINDA F. RECK, age 77, of Round Lake, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Slayton. She was born September 2, 1937, in Boyden, IA, to Heinrich and Anna (Kruse) Winter. Lacinda graduated from Rock Rapids High School and attended nursing school in Marshalltown, IA.
Lacinda married Jacob John Reck on April 3, 1956, in Rock Rapids, IA. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Worthington where Lacinda worked as an LPN at Cashel's Nursing Home and the Worthington Regional Hospital. Jacob died in February of 1987. Lacinda met an old high school friend, Dick Werkman, and the couple became engaged.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, playing the organ & accordion; and her and her husband Jake portrayed Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus around Christmas.
Lacinda is survived by her five children, Steven (Cindy) Reck, St. Matthews, SC; Michael (special friend, Marvene Barrie) Reck, Worthington; Caren Vaske, Worthington; Delmar (Yvonne) Reck, Plato, MO; and Cynthia Roskamp, Worthington; fiancée, Dick Werkman, Round Lake; seventeen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two brothers, Erwin (Carol) Winter, Montivedio; and Elmer (Joanne) Winter, George, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob; two brothers, Alfred & Leonard Winter; and two sisters, Viola Meyer; and Leora Pries.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Gary Anderson. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
