LaVONNE MARY KONZ, age 91, of Adrian, died Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Adrian Country Living Cottage. She was born February 21, 1933, in Worthington, to Paul and Rose (Sieve) Heinrichs. She graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic High School. Vonnie married Edwin Konz on June 3, 1954, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. After their marriage, the couple lived in various places while Eddie was in the service. After he was discharged, they moved to Pipestone. In 1956, they began farming north of Adrian. Eddie died in June of 1982. In the fall of that year, Vonnie moved into Adrian. She became a resident of the nursing home in 2001. She was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian; the WCCW; the Catholic Daughters of America; the Red Hatters; and card club. She enjoyed fishing, and crocheting. On January 9, 1984, Vonnie suffered a stroke. The family is forever grateful to the Adrian ladies who looked after Vonnie and visited with her daily. Vonnie is survived by four of her children, Cathy (Dan) Houlihan, Elysian; Dan (Deb) Konz, Brandon, SD; Ray (Jan) Konz, Brandon, SD; and Wayne (Roswitha) Konz, Mitchell, SD; daughter-in-law, Pam Konz, Adrian; son-in-law, Butch Parker, Lake City, IA; twenty grandchildren, Joe (Heather) Parker, Jack (friend, Nicole) Parker, Jill Parker, David (Megan) Konz, Paul (Ginger) Konz, James (Amber) Konz, Jon (Brooke) Konz, Kaitlyn (Scott) Voss, Sean (Victoria) Houlihan, Bobby (Steph) Houlihan, Meghan Houlihan, Rachelle (Tyler) Strom, Ryan (Pam) Konz, Roxanne (Chad) Konz, Theresa (Steven) Schmitz, Julie (Matt) Murphy, Emily Konz, Barbara (Jeremy) VanderHam, Alex (Maike) Houser and Andrea (JT) Miller; thirty four great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Schweitzer, Des Moines, IA; and a brother-in-law, Dale Molitor, St. Peter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; daughter, Pat Parker in 2010; son, Mike in 2019; and two sisters, Elvera Probst-Wagner and Jane Molitor.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, with Parish Prayers at 4 pm, Tuesday, December 3, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Visitation also from 9:30 to 10:15 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
