LENA (DeBOER) KROEZE, age 90, of Ellsworth, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born July 19, 1924, on a farm near Adrian, to Ocko and Emma (Luppens) DeBoer. She grew up on her parents farm until her marriage to Carl Kroeze.
Lena married Carl Kroeze on February 18, 1949. She joined her husband on his parents farm in rural Rushmore. The couple moved to Ellsworth after they sold the farm in 1993.
She was a former member of the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. After her marriage, she became a member of the Bethel Reformed Church of rural Ellsworth.
Lena is survived by several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl Kroeze; two brothers, Edward & Peter DeBoer; three sisters, Emma Hotting, Jennie Wurpts & Anna Rust; an infant brother; and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Funeral will be at 1:30 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Matt Miller. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
