Lenore Margaret Wilson was born on June 16th 1919 in Sioux Valley Township, Jackson County Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Edith Rowe Sampson. While growing up Lenore assisted on the family farm in Sioux Valley Township. She attended elementary and high school in Sioux Valley, then received a 2 year degree and Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State College. Lenore taught at a rural school at Miloma Minnesota and the Mahlberg School south of Worthington. She taught 4th grade and later was Junior High Principal at Lake Park, Iowa. Lenore and Jerald Oliver Wilson married on December 12th, 1945 in the Methodist Church in Lake Park, Iowa. They lived on their farm in Indian Lake Township near Round Lake and moved to Round Lake in 1978, staying active on the farm. After marriage she taught at Harris, Iowa and Brewster, Minnesota, belonged to Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Round Lake, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, was a member of and filled several offices in the Presbyterian Women?s Organization. Lenore passed away the morning of Monday, May 4, 2009 in the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eunice Riley, and husband Jerald (November 23, 1995) Lenore is survived by one son and his wife, John and Lynn Wilson of Round Lake Minnesota, and three daughters and their husbands; Edith and Jerry Darling of Marengo, Illinois; Jeanne and Ron Kelsey of Lamberton, Minnesota; Mary and George Lord of Jacksonville, Alabama. She is also survived by a brother, Lewis H. Sampson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lenore enjoyed spending time with her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grand children.
