LEONA AMELIA WILSON, age 94, of Luverne, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. She was born October 2, 1917, to Will and Lena (Albers) Dahlberg, in Rushmore, MN. She attended school in Rushmore.
Leona was united in marriage to LeRoy Wilson on November 24, 1935, in Rushmore. After their marriage they lived in Rushmore. In 1953, they moved to Magnolia where Leona worked for the Magnolia Steak House. They moved to Luverne in 1963 where they lived the rest of their married lives. After LeRoy died, Leona moved to the Adrian Nursing Home and later to the Minnesota Veterans Home.
She enjoyed gardening especially growing flowers, spending time with her family, always remembering birthdays and playing piano with her children when they were small.
Leona is survived by her five children, David (Petra) Wilson, Hawthorne, NV; Geri (Gordy) Hinck, Lake City, MN; Bruce (Jana) Wilson, Luverne; Brad (Barbara) Wilson, Alexandria, MN; Dan (Barbara) Wilson, Saginaw, MN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy, in 2004; grandchild, Shara Capron; and two brothers, Jack & Ted Dahlberg.
Visitation will be from 9-11 am Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Funeral will be 11 am Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Thomas Voigt. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
