LEONE M. BEYER, age 94, of Luverne, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Palisade Manor in Garretson S.D. She was born March 21, 1913, in Springwater Township, Rock County to Phillip and Mary (Grogan) Axelsen. She grew up on a farm in rural South Dakota and attended school in Sherman, S.D. graduating in 1930. After graduation Leone obtained her teaching degree and taught school in Rock County for eleven years. She was baptized and confirmed at the Jasper Trinity Lutheran Church in 1939. Leone was united in marriage to Herman Beyer on August 16, 1936. After their marriage they made their home in Luverne. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, knitting and especially making afghans. Leone is survived by a son, John (Gail) Beyer, Madera, CA; grandchildren, Andrew (Gina) Beyer, Erin (Scott) Smith, Mark Beyer; great grandchildren, Madisyn, McKenna, Colton and Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman, daughter, and two sisters. Blessed Be Her Memory.
