LEROY FRANCIS DOMAGALA, age 68, of Adrian, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. He was born on January 11, 1945, in Estelline, South Dakota, to Edward and Ruby (Pederson) Domagala. He graduated from Bryant High School in Bryant, South Dakota, in 1963. LeRoy received his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Dakota State University. He received his Master of Education degree from South Dakota State University and his Sixth Year Certificate degree from Mankato State University.
LeRoy married Rita Gilbertson on August 19, 1967, in Bryant, South Dakota, and they just celebrated 46 years of marriage. The couple lived in various communities where LeRoy taught school, including Ramona, Bridgewater and Mount Vernon, South Dakota. They moved to Balaton in 1973 where LeRoy served as Principal and Superintendent. In 1990, they moved to Adrian where LeRoy served as Superintendent. He retired from the Adrian School District in 2003 and from the Edgerton School District in 2010.
LeRoy was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church.
The joy of his life was his family.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Rita; three children, Bradley and friend Trisha Brassill and her daughter Ashleigh of Hayward, Wisconsin; Daniel and Lisa of Bloomington, and their children, Jackson and Riley; Ann and David Thier of Rushmore, and their children, Tristan, Gabriel and Isabel; brother, Delvin (Eileen) of Luverne; sister, Geneva Ladwig of Bryant, South Dakota; and sister-in-law, Janice Domagala of Cottage Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Thomas; a brother, Lyle; and a sister, Rose Gustafson.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
