LEROY WAYNE PRINS , age 82, of Rushmore, died Sunday, November 21, at the Sioux Falls Sanford USD Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1939, in Adrian, to William and Hilda (Bents) Prins. Leroy was married to Eunice Boomgaarden, in Ellsworth, MN, on September 10, 1960. Leroy began his Trucking career with his father before starting Leroy Prins Trucking. He had two trucks during the early stages and has now grown his business into a fleet of semis over the past 60 years. He served as Deacon and Trustee at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore, MN. He and Eunice have recently been attending The Living Rock Church in Luverne, MN. He served as a City Councilman for the city of Rushmore as well. Leroy enjoyed trucking, spending time with his family, vacations with the family, traveling, fishing, playing pinochle with friends and going out to eat, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leroy is survived by his wife, Eunice; three children, Jackie (Mike) Van Horsen, Worthington, MN; Doug (Tammy) Prins, Rushmore, MN; and Pam (Daryl) Gunnink, Wilmont, MN; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Tyann) Prins, Rushmore; Tawnia (Jesse) Feeken, Rushmore; Brittany (Trevor) Hassebroek, Adrian; Devon Van Horsen, Round Lake, MN; Paige (Clint) Metz, Sioux Falls, SD; Kaylee (Brandon) LeBrun, Adrian, MN; ten great-grandchildren, Karley, Ainsley, Kenli, Breklyn, Colton, Grace, Tucker, Cooper, Hunter, and Nash, three brothers, Wilbur (Carol) Prins; Rodney (Carol) Prins; and Gary (Linda) Prins; brother-in-law, Robert DeBates; and sister-in-law, Linda Rosenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Hilda; sisters, Lucille Dornburg and Marlys Harberts; Brother, Marvin Prins; sister-in-law, Diane Prins; Mother-in-law, Grace Eihausen; step father-in-law, Marvin Eihausen; Father-in-law, Benny Boomgaarden; sister-in-law's, Bernice DeBates, Janelle Eaton, and Rose Boomgaarden; brother-in-law's, Okke Boomgaarden, and Gary Rosenberg.

Vistation will be from 5-7:30 PM Friday, December 3, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday December 4, 2021, at Living Rock Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Billy Skaggs.  Burial will be at the Sunset Rest Cemetery in rural Rushmore.
