IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leslie Raymon
Harms
March 20, 1945 – December 11, 2022
LESLIE RAYMON HARMS, age 77, passed away December 11, 2022, at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. He was born to Henry Jonas and Ellen Lena (Small) Harms on the family farm in Alba Township, Jackson County, on March 20, 1945, where he lived his entire life. He attended and graduated from Okabena High School in 1963.
Being he was born on a farm, it was in his nature to be a farmer. He was his father's right hand man and took over the home farm after his father passed away. Neighboring farmers would hire him to bale hay and straw and he would also stack bales behind other balers. He helped raise pigs in his earlier years and helped his mother with her dairy cattle until the dairy buyout. They continued with stock cows for several more years. He finished his last harvest this fall, watching from the skid loader seat with pride of being a farmer.
Baling hay and straw, thrashing oats, cultivating row crops and mowing lawn were his joy in life. He developed cancer and that took him to greener pastures.
He is survived by his twin sister, Frances, Brewster, MN; sister-in-law, Darline; nephews, Robert, Raymond, Sherman and Brian, all live in Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald and Wayne; sister Audrey.
A private memorial service will be at a later date at Hersey Cemetery near Brewster.
