LOIS ARLENE KLEINE, age 89, of Luverne, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake, IA. She was born November 13, 1933, in rural Adrian, to George and Grace (Oltoff) Bergman. At the age of thirteen, Lois made her choice to serve God and served him the rest of her life. She attended country school District 57 near Luverne and graduated from the eighth grade in 1946.

Lois moved with her parents to Adrian and worked at Safeway Egg Co. for almost twelve years. In 1964, she attended Nettleton Institution in Omaha, NE and enrolled in computers and accounting training. Lois received her GED on May 19, 1965. She worked for Northern Natural Gas Co. in Omaha for twenty-five years.

Lois married Louie Kleine on September 4, 1965. In 1987, Lois & Lou took early retirement and moved to Luverne. She worked for Midwest Bank part time. In 1988, the couple began wintering in Texas at Alamo Recreational Park in Alamo, TX where she worked in the office for eighteen years. After Lou died, she went back for two winters and managed at East Gate Park in Harlingen, TX.

Lois is survived by her sister Bernice Kracht, Estherville, IA; two sisters-in-law, Mildred (John) Steece, Luverne; and Mary (Floyd) Kraetsch, Luverne; two brothers-in-law, Dallas Kleine, Bullhead City, AZ; and Thomas Kleine, Sommerville, SC; and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lou on Feb. 21, 2007; brother, Ervin (Elsie) Bergman; and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday, August 1, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
