LOIS ELAINE McCREARY, age 74, of Luverne, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born July 23, 1936, in Sibley, IA, to Fritz and Lena (Schubert) Koolman. She lived on the family farm with her parents. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1955. She later worked at the Adrian Hospital.
Lois married Arthur Tofteland on March 25, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Adrian. After their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm west of Kanaranzi where they raised their family. Arthur died in November of 1968.
Lois married George McCreary, in 1973, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. George died in 1996. In 1970, Lois began working at Herried Jewry Store in Luverne. She later worked for Duane Mulder Auction Service in Luverne.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her son, Bruce Tofteland, Luverne; daughter, Sonya (Randy) Miller, Garden City, KS; two granddaughters, Erika & Kelli; and a sister, Barbara Heikes, Fergus Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her two husbands.
