LOIS VIRGINIA LEISTICO, age 101, died Thursday, July 26, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born on April 14, 1906 on a farm east of Little Rock, Iowa, to parents, Frank and Maude (Walbran) Chase. She attended country school, and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1924. After graduating from high school, Virginia taught country school for three years in Osceola County while attending Cedar Falls Teachers College. She also taught school in Cedar Falls, IA in the winter and went to college in the summer. Virginia graduated from the University of Iowa in 1930, majoring in Math and Home Economics. Virginia then moved to Baltimore, MD and taught Home Economics from 1930 to 1964. On July 27, 1964, Virginia was united in marriage to Everett Leistico at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. They made their home in Worthington for the next thirty years. Everett died on January 28, 1994. Virginia continued to live in their home until March of 2000, when she moved to the Meadows. Virginia is survived by four sons, Dale (Agnes) Leistico, Lompoc, CA; Melvin (Mildred) Leistico, Chattaroy, WA; Robert Leistico, Minneapolis, MN; Dwayne (Gladys Thieschafer) Leistico, Chattaroy, WA; three daughters, Carol (Wayne) Waggoner, London, OH; Geraldine (Victor) Pohlman, Lakefield, MN; Marilyn (Donald) Moe, Hamel, MN; a daughter-in-law, Marge Veith, Mount Vernon, OH; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett, children, Dudley Crippen and Mary Crippen Efner and an infant child, son-in-law, Elbert Efner, granddaughter Donna Crippen Jackson, brother, H. Vernon Chase and a sister, M. Lucille Chase
