Obituary

LORRAINE DOBERNECKER, age 83, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born December 2, 1928, in Grand Prairie Township, rural Ellsworth, to Walter and Leona (Essman) Baal. She graduated from Ellsworth High School; and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Christian Education from Dubuque University
Lorraine married Donald Dean Dobernecker on June 12, 1955, in Red Oak, IA. They moved Lorraine's family's farm south of Adrian and ran the dairy farm "Starview Holsteins" for over thirty years. In 1988, they moved to Ellsworth. Lorraine worked at various jobs including J & R Industries in Adrian; cooking at the Ellsworth Public School and South Shore Care Center in Worthington; and owned & operated a daycare center for over nineteen years.
She was a former member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth and a current member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore where she had served as an Elder, Sunday School & Confirmation Teacher, and played organ & piano. She was also a member of the Nobles Co. ASCS; the Minnesota Holstein Association; Extended Service of the Nobles County Soil & Water Conservation; and Dairy Superintendent and the Nobles County 4-H Board of Directors. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework, cooking, reading the Bible, writing letters, square dancing and babysitting her grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by her two children, David (Audrey) Dobernecker, rural Adrian; and LaDonna (Tim) Yeadon, rural Slayton; two grandchildren, Jeremy Dobernecker, Luverne; and Heather (Dylan) Klarenbeek, rural Little Rock, IA; four great grandchildren, Dominic & Ayden Rye-Dobernecker and Seth & Brekyn Klarenbeek; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Miller, Inver Grove Heights.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean Dobernecker, on January 6, 2011; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Gayle Miller.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. A memorial service will be 1PM Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore.
