LORRAINE JACOBSON, age 84, of Luverne, died Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Sanford Hospital in Luverne. She was born March 18, 1925, on a farm near Inwood, IA, to Edward and Hertha (Jacobsen) Haack. Lorraine attended country school and Inwood Public School until she & her mother moved to Hills after the death of her father in 1930. They moved back to Inwood and Lorraine graduated from Inwood High School in 1943. After graduation she was employed at AAA in Sioux Falls, SD. Lorraine married Mark Jacobson on December 6, 1946, in Inwood, IA. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, SD where Lorraine was employed at Sioux Falls Gas Co. In 1948, they moved to Worthington where she worked at Credit Records. The couple purchased the International Harvester dealership from Olson & Johnson, in Luverne, in 1957 and moved to Luverne in 1958. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne; and several bridge clubs. Lorraine is survived by her son, Jim (Barbara Douglas) Jacobson, Aurora, CO; daughter, Joan (Don) Amos, Luverne; two grandchildren, Brian (Lindsay) Amos, Littleton, CO; and Adam Amos, Sioux Falls, SD; two great grandchildren, Izabella & Jacoby Amos; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Ernest) Tyler, Sioux Falls, SD; and Violet Bahnson, Inwood, IA; and a brother-in-law, Francis (Roseanna) Jacobson, Huntington Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; step father, Arvid Pedersen; and her husband, Mark Jacobson, on June 9, 2001. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
