Lorraine H. Klooster

    LORRAINE H. KLOOSTER, age 97, of Luverne, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. She was born January 14, 1929, in Ellsworth, to Henry and Tena (Fischer) Visker.

    Lorraine was dearly loved by family and friends. As she was a good cook, she showed her love in return by planning gatherings for family and friends where there was always more than ample good food. She was a member of both the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth and the First Presbyterian Church in Luverne. Often she enjoyed volunteering at the churches and at the Good Samaritan home in Luverne.

    Lorraine received her education in Ellsworth where she met and began dating Lawrence Klooster in high school. They graduated in 1946. The couple were married on March 12, 1949. They farmed for several years and then bought a service station in Ellsworth where they lived for twenty six years. In 1992, Lawrence and Lorraine retired and moved to Luverne. In November 2018 they moved to Parkview Manor in Ellsworth.

    Lorraine is survived by her three children, Lynette (Keith) Shishido, Malibu CA; Steve (Karen) Klooster, Sioux Falls; and Leanne Warwick, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law, Shelley Klooster, Adrian; eight grandchildren, Jill, John, Julie, Brady, Lee, Kyle, Shea, and Shannon; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence on March 9, 2019; and son, Scott on April 24, 2026.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, May 29 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A private family service & burial will take place at a later date.
