LORRAINE A. KROHN, age 98, of Worthington, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Johanna Shores Nursing Home in Arden Hills, MN. She was born on February 3, 1916 in Worthington to parents, Orie B. and Alice Caroline (Riss) Kingery. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1934. After her schooling she resided in Worthington and worked in various positions at the Nobles County Court House.
Lorraine was united in marriage to Verne A. Krohn on December 8, 1941 in South Sioux City, NE. Verne was immediately called to serve in World War II and Lorraine then made her home in Rushmore and worked at the First State Bank. After Verne returned from the war, they made their home in Worthington. Lorraine worked at the ASCS office and later worked as the Deputy Registrar in Worthington.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. Lorraine was an accomplished seamstress and cook, and in retirement she especially enjoyed golfing.
She is survived by two sisters, Audrey B. Ling, Worthington; M. June Herman, Northfield, MN; and Matt (Ruth) Kingery, Sioux City, IA.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Verne, in 1995, one brother Doyle, and one sister, Delores Hagberg.
