LOUIS (JACK) MARAS, age 61, of Luverne, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his home. He was born October 14, 1946 in Lakefield to parents Ludwig and Evelyn (Blaum) Maras. He attended various schools in the area before serving his nation during the Vietnam Conflict. He received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1969. Jack was united in marriage to Joanne (Puddy) Kruger on October 23, 1970 in Luverne. They lived in Hardwick, MN and later purchased a meat market in George, IA. After ten years in the meat market he was employed by Columbian Feeds. In 1986, they moved back to Luverne where Jack worked for Kenny?s Super Value as a meat manager for four years. He then worked for Nature?s Best Feeds out of Inwood, IA and worked part-time at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and the American Legion in Luverne. Jack enjoyed spending time at Ketterling?s farm with his animals. He especially enjoyed following his grandchildren?s sporting events and going on long walks with his grandchildren collecting trinkets. Jack is survived by his wife, Puddy Maras, Luverne; children, Jo (Butch) Buss, Luverne; Becky (Craig) Gonnerman, Luverne; Paula Maras and her special friend, Josh DePyper, Sioux Center, IA; three grandchildren, Brittney, Kennedy and Coy; brothers, Francis Maras, Hartford, SD; Dominic (Linda) Maras, Luverne; Bernard (Sharon) Maras, Brandon, SD; Philip Maras, Des Moines, IA and Donnie Maras, Lincoln, NE; sisters, Theresa (Bud) Radke, Lakefield; Diane (Eldon) Klaahsen, St. Ansgar, IA; Agnes Thompson, Bonderant, IA and Mary Moorshead of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, one brother and two sisters. Blessed Be His Memory.
