LYDIA PRONK, age 89, of Worthington, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at South Shore Care Center  in Worthington. She was born May 1, 1925 in Leota Twp; Nobles County, MN; the daughter of Henry and Dena (Hofkamp) Evink. Lydia attended school through 8th grade at District #99 in Leota Twp.
Lydia was united in marriage to Lester Pronk on February 22, 1946 in Leota. They farmed by Leota for 10 years before moving to Worthington in 1956. She and Lester had three children, one son, Garvin and two daughters Donna and Darlene.
She was an active member of the American Reformed Church and served in several organizations such as Sunday School, VBS, RCW and the Congregational Care Committee.
Lydia is survived by one son, Garvin (Bobette) Pronk, Rochester, MN; and two daughters, Donna (Doug) Van Roekel, Sioux Falls, SD; and Darlene (Bruce) Gehring, Grand Marais, MN; four grandchildren, Denae (Chris) Klinkenborg, Dell Rapids, SD; Dana Van Roekel, Sioux Falls, SD; Gwen (Ken) Stevens, Rochester, MN; Bryce (Sara) Pronk, Rochester, MN; six great grandchildren, Kendra, Kayla and Karisa Stevens, Bennett and Alexis Pronk and Mitchell Klinkenborg; one brother, John (Esther) Evink, Leota, MN; one sister-in-law, Geneva VandenBerg of Michigan, nieces, nephews and friends.
Her husband, Lester, her parents, one brother, Theodore, one sister, Henrietta Veld, and one brother-in-law, John Veld preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington and continue on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at the American Reformed Church in Worthington.
The Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11 AM at the American Reformed Church in Worthington with Pastor Irwin Van Leeuwen officiating. Burial will be Saturday morning at 9:30 AM at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
