MALINDA LOUISE BERGESON, age 93, of Luverne, died peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2012, at her home. She was born September 3, 1918, in Beaver Creek, to Peter and Elsie (Snieder) Herrmann. She attended District #10 school in rural Rock County.
Malinda married Donald Bergeson in 1939, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Donald died on March 10, 1964. After losing her husband, Malinda worked at various jobs including cooking & waitressing at the Beaver Creek Café, a cook at the Luverne Community Hospital for more than twenty years, and also worked evenings at the Luverne VFW.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Luverne, where she was active with the Presbyterian Women. Malinda enjoyed playing cards, cooking, watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, Green Bay Packers, and Tiger Woods. She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Germany and Switzerland. She enjoyed visiting with people and always enjoyed her time shared with her family.
Malinda is survived by her daughter, Janice Sandstede, Rosemont; three grandchildren, Darrell Lee Sandstede, Rosemont; Linda (Rick) Drentlaw, Rosemount, MN; and John (Angela) Sandstede, Le Sueur, MN; and seven great grandchildren, Donald, Dawnielle, Rebecca, Michael, Ava, Evelyn, John, and two great-great grandchildren, Jonathan and Logen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and three brothers, Roy, Louis, and Harry Herrmann.
