MANUEL ORITZ, JR. age 54, of Lake Norden, SD formerly of Worthington, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD.  He was born on February 9, 1959 in Weslaco, TX to parents Manuel, Sr. and Theodora (Vela) Ortiz.  He attended school in Weslaco, TX.
Manuel married Maria Beda on August 29, 1980 in Warwick, NY.  Manual was employed with West Central Turkeys.  The couple then moved to Worthington and he was employed with JBS.  He currently was employed with Lake Norden Cheese Company in Watertown, SD.
Manuel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington.  He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, dancing, cookouts with family and friends, traveling to visit family and Lincoln cars.  He also liked to collect pens and two dollar bills.
He is survived by his daughter Priscilla Ortiz, Leota, MN; son, Manuel Ortiz, III, Leota, MN; two grandchildren, Jose and Ezequiel, three brothers, Oscar, Robert, and Joel Ortiz, and three sisters, Louisa Cisneros, Diana Ortiz and Corina Trejo.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maria on September 9, 2000, and one brother, Tito Ortiz.
