MARCELLA RAYE BURNHAM, age 69, of Worthington, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Sanford Worthington Regional Hospital. She was born January 1, 1943, in Sibley, IA, to Ralph and Esther (Baird) Huls. She graduated from Sibley High School in 1961.
Marcella married James Burnham on August 28, 1964, in Sibley, IA. After their marriage, the couple lived on the family farm in Bigelow Township where they began operating the farm. Marcella was also a homemaker and was later employed at Swift & Company for over eighteen years.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington; and the Worthington Fraternal Order of the Elks. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with family & friends.
Marcella is survived by her three children, Brenda (Kevin) Schroeder, Worthington; Travis (Leslie) Burnham, Worthington; and Stacy (Tim) Behrends, Iona; five grandchildren; one great grandson; and two sisters, Marlene (Don) Loring, Harris, IA; and Geraldine (Rodney) Behrens, Ocheyedan, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James, on February 14, 2005.
A time of fellowship will be from 5-7 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A memorial service will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the American Lutheran Church, in Worthington, officiated by Rev. Ryan Raedke. Burial of cremains will be at the Worthington Cemetery.
