MARGARET MARY LING, age 85, of Worthington, died on May 23, 2024 at Maggie's Place in Ames, IA. She was the eleventh child of eleven children, born on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, 1938, in Heron Lake, MN to Carl and Monica (Freking) Bartosh. She graduated from Heron Lake High School in 1956. On July 4th, 1957 Margaret met James Ling, the love of her life. Jim and Margaret were united in marriage on June 17, 1958. Together they had three sons, Mike, Kevin, & Scott.  Raising those three boys was her greatest accomplishment in life. Family was everything to her.  She loved to entertain family and friends taking great pleasure in preparing wonderful meals. Her unwavering relationship with God was an inspiration to many until her last breath. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington, MN and Saint Cecilia's Catholic Church, Ames, IA. Margaret will be forever remembered for the warmth of her home, her caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Margaret worked as a telephone operator before working in the Nobles County Recorder's Office for over twenty-three years and kept busy with multiple part time jobs after retiring from the County. Three things that Margaret loved to do. First: spending time with family, second: camping adventures specifically being a member of Cutty's Resort Lake Okoboji for over 30 years.  Third: traveling throughout the world. Over the years she was very involved in many organizations, Marriage & Engaged Encounter, Turkey Trotter Square Dancing, Red Hat Ladies, Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts of America, Card Club just to name a few. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Mike (Dawn) Ling, Ames, IA; Kevin Ling, North Mankato MN; and Scott (Diane) Ling, Champlin MN; seven grandchildren, Amber (Ling) Roberts, David (Sarah) Ling, Christina (Josh) Meyn, Justin (Brook) Ling, Matthew Ling, Megan (Ben) Baldwin and Shauna Ling (Ethan Spoerry); Nine great-grandchildren, Jason, Ethan, Dylan, Gracie, Archie, Dalton, Jackson, Brinnley & Connor; brother, Francis Bartosh, Windom; and a sister, Mary Ann Benson, Windom and let's not forget the numerous grand pups. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Carl & Monica Bartosh; husband, James on April 3, 2020; brothers, Leo, Charles and Bernard "Bud" Bartosh and sisters, Sally Heger, Fidelis Hoffmann, Rita Schoborg, Gerry Cooley, and Josephine Bartosh.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am Tuesday, May 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Heron Lake, officiated by Fr. Antony Arokiyam. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Heron Lake.
