MARGARET HOPE NELSON, age 80, of Luverne, died at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born May 3, 1935, in Luverne, to Barney and Gettys (Cain) Fritz. Margaret graduated from Luverne High School. She later worked as a clerk for the city of Luverne.
Margaret married Marv Nelson on July 23, 1976. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. They owned & operated The Corner Shop in Luverne.
She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. She enjoyed reading & traveling.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Paula (Wayne) Kolander, Heron Lake; Peggy Williamson, Kathleen, GA; Pam Verde, Worthington; and Tim (Denise) Bentson, Maple Grove; eight grandchildren, Alexa (Jason) Wozniak, Kelly Scheidt, Aaron Faber, Shannon Faber, Erica (Andrew) Battle, Rachel Verde, Adam Bentson & Emily Bentson; and three great grandchildren, Adrienne Jackson, Andrew Jr. & Brianna Battle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joshua Lee; an infant sister, Frances; and three brothers, Gene, Dan & Jim Fritz.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
