MARGARET EMMA GRIMMIUS, age 86, of Worthington, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born July 19, 1922 in Ransom Township, Nobles County, MN; to parents Henry and Anna (Bastow) Heideman. She attended rural school in District #21 in Ransom Township. She helped on the family farm after her schooling. Margaret was united in marriage to Fred Heeren on October 17, 1939 in Rock Rapids, IA. They made their home in Little Rock, IA; and later moved to Worthington. In 1942, they started working for Margaret?s father Henry and were engaged in farming, south of Rushmore in Ransom Township. Fred preceded her in death on May 11, 1943. To that union three sons were born, Leroy, Marvin and Fred Heeren. Margaret moved to Worthington and was united in marriage to Manco (Mike) Grimmius on March 3, 1947 at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church south of Rushmore. They farmed for eight years southwest of Rushmore and moved back to Worthington where Margaret was employed with Campbell?s Soup Company for over 26 years. To that union two daughters were born, Grace and Norma. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington and belonged to the Women?s Association and did volunteer work at the Manna Food Pantry. Margaret also taught Sunday school at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and was a member of the TOPS organization and the Campbell?s Soup birthday club, after she retired. Mike preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. Margaret is survived by her sons, Leroy (Kathy) Heeren, Luverne; Marvin (Loxie) Heeren, Worthington and Fred (Roberta) Heeren, White Bear Lake, MN; daughters, Grace (fianc? Gary Citterman) Mejia, Worthington; and Norma Kuper, Adrian; six grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Gloria) Heideman, Rushmore and Frank Heideman, Luverne; sisters, Minnie Fath, Windom and Etta Remhof, Apple Valley, MN; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Heideman, Rushmore, MN; Liz Snelson, Apple Valley, MN; Helen Grimmius, Worthington; and Yvonne Grimmius, Sibley, IA.. She was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husband, four brothers, John, Frederick, Henry and Albert Heideman and a sister Ann Ennenga.
