MARGARET V. SCHERER, age 93, of Worthington, died Monday, January 5, 2009, at Lakeview Assisted Living, in Heron Lake, MN. She was born January 17, 1915, in Woonsocket, SD, to Joseph and Catherine (Houlihan) Gormally. After Margaret graduated from Lake High School in South Dakota, she moved to Worthington to work at the Worthington Regional Hospital. Margaret was united in marriage to Everett Scherer on February 15, 1940 in Nobles County. They farmed in the Worthington and Round Lake areas until their retirement in 1976. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, in Worthington. Margaret was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Hospital Auxiliary, and the Pioneer Village. Margaret is survived by one son, Jerome (Wanda) Scherer, Toledo, OH; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Scherer, Fridley, MN; six grandchildren; Dan, Stephanie, Dana, Rick, Ritchie, and Denise; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; son, Donald; and brother, Thomas.
